Abstract

The article examines migration processes in Russia and the countries of Central Asia in the period from 2018 to 2022. based on open sources and official statistical data from departmental bodies. It is noted that international events, namely the COVID-19 pandemic, the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan, Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, partial mobilization in Russia, have affected migration flows in the Central Asian region. The legislation of the Central Asian countries in the field of migration policy is also reviewed and general trends are identified.
