Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.Using the data of A-share listed companies in Chinese coastal areas from 2008 to 2018, this paper compares the differences of financial asset investment level between coastal areas and inland areas, and empirically analyses the impact of financial asset investment on business performance. The research finds that: (1) the regional attributes of enterprises will affect the level of financial asset investment. In the coastal areas with relatively developed economy, there may be more financial assets investment due to less financing constraints. (2) The investment of financial assets may affect the performance of enterprises.
