Abstract

The study aims to determine the ELT techniques perceived by the students as influencing classroom participation. This research uses quantitative method design. It involves a survey research and a questionnaire that is adopted from Gazali (2010). The participants of this study are undergraduate students of English Department at Lebanese French University in Kurdistan. To collect the quantitative data, a set of questionnaire consisting of sixteen questions which are divided into two parts weredistributed. The results showed that students consider such techniques as “Translating to Kurdish/Arabic” , “Giving jokes, “Reviewing the previous lesson” , “Information transfer” as the most effective and involving and provide the students’ active participation in English language classroom.
