Criminology & Public PolicyVolume 2, Issue 2 p. 197-206 THE IMPACT OF DRUG COURTS JOHN S. GOLDKAMP, JOHN S. GOLDKAMP John S. Goldkamp, Professor of Criminal Justice at Temple University, headed the Crime and Justice Research Institute in Philadelphia from 1988–2002. His research has dealt with problem-solving courts, including drug courts, but extending to domestic violence, community, and mental health courts. With colleagues (Robinson and White), he completed a national evaluation of the Portland and Las Vegas drug courts, two of the nation's oldest and longest-operating, and published analysis of discussions with drug court participants in six jurisdictions in the United States. Dr. Goldkamp's research has also focused on judicial discretion in bail, pretrial release and detention in bail reform experiments in Philadelphia and nationallySearch for more papers by this author JOHN S.
