Abstract

The article focuses on studies of the digitalization of agriculture and rural areas based on the use of information and communication technologies, since the sustainable development in rural areas will be determined by the fact how innovatively developed they will be in the coming decades. The emergence of digital technologies in agriculture is based on progressive solutions such as robotization, automation, and geo-positioning. Digitalization based on the use of information and communication technologies and related technological changes are considered as objective processes, as a result of the technological progress. The purpose of the current research is to improve the theory and practice of the development of digital technologies in agriculture and rural areas. The main research methods that were used to carry out the work are observation methods, analysis and synthesis, a systematic approach. The performed analysis of innovative processes in agriculture from the standpoint of the use of information and communication technologies shows the effectiveness of their implementation in the agricultural sector to achieve economic and social effect.
