Abstract

Presently, the pandemic has caused the world’s most painful catastrophe in the last few decades, bringing shockwaves throughout healthcare systems, economies, and civilizations worldwide. Governments are concentrating on managing the sickness and rebuilding economies in the face of this unprecedented catastrophe. The energy industry was badly harmed as well, by recurrent lockdowns in the year 2020, with travel restrictions, commerce, and economic activity globally reducing by 4 percent and education in energy use. Although pandemic waves still continue, various protective programs such as giving of vaccinations, booster doses, etc. have allowed people, and countries, to resume. Global energy consumption is predicted to recover by 4.6 percent in the year 2021-22, bringing back to pre-covid era. The effects of the pandemic on clean energy products and transitions are still being determined. Access to clean energy is the lifeline to achieve quality of life, economic development, energy security, and societal upliftment. There is a need to shift from the use of a conventional source of energy to clean energy. The present paper investigates the influence of Covid-19, pandemic on global clean energy accessibility in general and Indian clean energy sector and solar industry in particular.
