Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of cooperative learning strategies on pupils’ learning engagement in a smart classroom environment. This study adopts a one group pre-test and post-test design to study a third-grade music class, “Tiger Molar”. This class centers on cooperative learning activities and carries out teaching activities in a smart classroom. The study finds that: (1) In the smart classroom environment, cooperative learning strategies help improve students’ learning engagement as a whole. The learning engagement includes positive behavior engagement, negative behavior engagement, positive emotional engagement, and negative emotional engagement. Furthermore, students’ negative behavior engagement and negative emotional engagement decreased significantly. (2) When using cooperative learning strategies the smart classroom environment, there is no significant difference in learning engagement between boys and girls.
