Abstract

The first European conference on computational physics, very well organized by the Computational Physics Group of the European Physical Society was held at CERN, Geneva on 10–14 April 1972. The major part of the program was devoted to invited papers which reviewed the effect that the advent of the electronic computer has had on research in physics over the last one or two decades and attempted to identify those areas of physics where computations may continue to make substantial contributions in future years.
