Abstract

This paper investigates whether the widespread use of wireless communication devices and real-time monitoring systems can guarantee the safety of trains operating in irregular terrain. Freight train transportation is characterized by its quick speeds, independence from topography, enormous carrying capacity, safety and so on. These characteristics define its prominent role in the integrated transportation system. As a result, safeguarding the safety of freight train transportation is crucial for any nation, and all nations have adequate methods and measures for railroad transportation safety. In order to increase train driving safety, transportation departments will typically require train crews to employ communication devices and video surveillance systems. This technical method allows each transportation department to guarantee railway safety directly. In this paper, researchers split the trains into two groups, had them transport the same products, and had their work in the same environment. The most cutting-edge and complete communication technology is installed in one group of trains, and this group also has a real-time tunnel monitoring system, whereas the other group has comparatively older communication equipment and no such system. Finally, the safety of the train movement was examined to determine how it would alter based on the existence of communication equipment and video monitoring systems by comparing the train movement and failure data between the two sets of trains in the same transportation environment. The researchers could demonstrate the viability and practicality of a comprehensive communication tool and monitoring system by comparing the number of failures.
