Abstract

This paper deals with the impact of cloud computing in entrepreneurship and its implementation in Albanian enterprises. Cloud computing has been considered the most important discovery in the technology world these past years. Although the steps of cloud computing development started in the 1960s, the spread reached after 2010. Since then, this technology has changed the nature of many businesses operating in different sectors. This study explores the usage and implementation of cloud computing in Europe and Albania. The method used for this study was a survey, which was sent to 51 enterprises located in Albania. The enterprises were selected from different economic activities and types of businesses. According to the data taken from the survey, it is shown that companies have difficulties with implementing cloud computing because the Albanian market is considered too small. Despite this, Albania has taken the first steps toward cloud services and it is expected that this technology will spread widely in all business sectors in the near future. Cloud computing is famous for its virtual hosting services, which are in demand and has more features for businesses. Cloud computing is needed because it allows companies to run essential programs and applications over the internet by saving time, space, inconvenience and money.
