The Impact of CHINA RAILWAY Express on Urban Economic Development

Abstract

CHINA RAILWAY Express(CR Express for short) has played an important role in reacting the Corona Virus Disease 2019, stabilizing foreign trade, ensuring production and living, promoting “the Belt and Road Initiatives” development and improving Chinese opening up level. In order to solve the problems existing, raise the CR Express operation quality and promote the high-quality development of CR Express, this paper uses the DID model to study the economy impact on the CR Express operated cities. This paper sorted out the status and problems of CR Express in recent years, taken the operation cities as the evaluation object, based on whether the city had five scheduled trains and the annual operation amount of CR Express reached more than 300 columns. The cities with five scheduled trains and CR Express' operation amount more than 300 columns were regarded as experimental group one, and the operation amount less than 300 columns were regarded as experimental group two, and typical cities selected without CR Express were used as the control group, and then a DID model is established and divided into two groups analysis and evaluation. The evaluation results show that only when the CR Express operated regularly and reached a certain scale, they could have a positive impact on the urban economy. Therefore, We should insist on the high-quality development paths of promoting the construction of CR Express assembly centre, regulating subsidies and improving the economic, trade and financial rules concerned.
