Abstract

PbSe nanocrystals with different shapes like rods, stars and multipods have recently been synthesized successfully based on different mechanisms. By common methods like spin-coating, dip-coating and equilibrium self-assembly, nanocrystals can be used as optoelectronic devices. Among these, it's essential to chemically treat original nanocrystal solids due to their poor electrical properties. Based on this, we investigate the impact of chemical treatment on spin-cast multipod PbSe nanocrystals films. The different ligand exchange mechanisms and different coupled states between two neighboring PbSe nanocrystals before and after ligand exchange are discussed here. The results show that TGA-treated films have the best electrical properties. This suitable chemical treatment is proved to be useful in improving the performance of anisotropic PbSe nanocrystals optoelectronic devices.
