Abstract

The article highlights the importance of the human factor and its impact on the safety of flight operation. The overview of statistical surveys and results of various studies, carried out in recent yearsconfirms a significant proportion of the operational aspects that may result in a disruption of psycho-physiological functions of a human body. Despite the effort to achieve the maximum performance of the crew, it is necessary to take into account their physiological capabilities and limitations in specific workload situations and after that apply this knowledge into practice. Simulations offlights implemented by the flight simulator ELITE S612 BITD allowed monitoring performance changes in a sample of tested pilots, diversion from the flight route, a curve of the errorrate and take measures of safety risks and their consequences.
