Abstract

The research was carried out to verify the impact of using systems to monitor cargo location and parameters in the transportation chain. Three variants of cases were examined - a reference variant (without cargo monitoring systems), variant I (positioning systems), and variant II (monitoring cargo location and parameters). It was possible to assess the benefits of application of the monitoring systems of loading units in road transport. The transport chain was divided into separate processes. For each of them, the possible risk appearance was specified with percentage probability. On this basis, the simulation of transport cases was performed using Excel software. For the simulation results analysis, the statistical software 'MiniTab 17' and 'Statgraphic Centurion XVI' was used. Risk identification on each link of the supply chain allows taking actions in order to reduce costs, which is essential to the effective functioning of the company and increasing the level of customer service.
