Abstract

The present study investigates the mediating role of self-efficacy between leader and subordinate's autonomy expectation and job crafting. It also aims to examine the moderating effect of leader coalition between leader autonomy expectation, subordinates autonomy expectation, and self-efficacy. Data were collected from 148 permanent employees belonging to the electrical and electronic industry of Pakistan. The multisource data was gathered in time lags to avoid common method and self-serving bias. The latest statistical techniques were executed through SPSS and AMOS to analyse the data. The results of the present research indicate that leader autonomy expectation and subordinate autonomy expectations positively and significantly predict job crafting. The results also reveal that self-efficacy mediates the relationship between leader autonomy expectations and subordinates autonomy expectations and job crafting. Moreover, leader coalition strengthens the association between leader and subordinates autonomy expectation and self-efficacy. Furthermore, the theoretical and managerial implications are deliberated for the target sector in particular and other sectors in general.
