Abstract
Rationale: Every hospital should have a nutrition support team (NST) to manage patients on artificial nutrition support. The demand for the input has increased over 8 years because of tertiary services for surgery, gastroenterology and the introduction of a regional trauma centre. In 2009, the NST was introduced in our hospital primarily to address catheter-related blood stream infection (CRBSI) rates in patients with type 1 intestinal failure (IF).
