Abstract

With the development of human resource management theory, more researchers began to pay attention to the importance of strategic human capital. But its mechanism has not yet reached a consensus. The resource-based view of firms provides a good framework for analyzing the role of strategic human capital. Based on resource-based view, this paper takes dozens of firms' strategic human capital as the object and connects firm strategic human capital with firm competitive strategy. Then it analyzes the characteristics of different strategic human capital, which is in accord with different competitive strategies, and the relationship between strategic human capital and firm performance. At last, using factor analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis, it found that the inner developing human capital has more positive effects on firm performance than the outer achieving human capital.
