Abstract

Slow-reacting substance of anaphylaxis (SRS-A) was released immunologically from bovine lung in vitro. Polyphloretin phosphate inhibited release of SRS-A. Pretreatment of calves with aspirin potentiated SRS-A release on challenge. The partially purified SRS-A extract contracted the guinea-pig ileum and bovine pulmonary vein.
