Abstract

The tasks of Soviet statistics were defined by the historic decisions of our party's 23rd Congress, the October 1964, March and September 1965, and May 1966 plenums of the Central Committee of the CPSU, which faced economic, planning, and administrative organizations with new and more complicated tasks: those of improving the methods of managing the economy, and of the scientific methods of planning and economic information. Soviet statisticians must proceed from these principal goals in their theoretical and practical work.
