Abstract

Hello, fellow robot enthusiasts, and thank you for tuning in to the second installment of the revived "Student's Corner" column. The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Student Activities Committee (SAC) has caught up on sleep after the inspiring IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation 2016 (ICRA 2016) in Stockholm, Sweden. Along with the many fantastic keynote speakers and frontier-pushing technical sessions, the SAC hosted several exciting events. We kicked the conference off with a student pub crawl through distinct neighborhoods in Stockholm-beginning with free (nearly TOO authentic!) appetizers in an intimate Viking-style setting and culminating in a modern cocktail lounge. A huge thank you is extended to our two fantastic local guides, Jana Tumova and Dimitris Boskos, for making the crawl such a success. Along with revealing a unique side of Stockholm, the crawl was an excellent opportunity to mingle with fellow students. It was a treat to see fellow crawlers at different events throughout the conference.
