Abstract
Oncostemma cuspidatum K. Schumdescribed from the West African island of São Tomé, is recognized as being synonymous with Tylophora oblonga N.E. Bra widespread and variable species of mainland African rainforests. The monotypic genus Oncostemma K. Schum. is reduced to synonymy with Tylophora R. Br. (Asclepiadaceae–Asclepiadeae–Astephaninae).
