Abstract
Several large scale geological events controlled the Dacian Basin inception. The Dacian Basin can be defined as the southern Carpathian Foredeep area outlined after a long migration process, where the sediment accumulation was stimulated by the Carpathian orogenic climax and organized within a morphologically closed basin and in a Neogene Paratethys brackish-water ecosystem.
