Abstract

Two simple techniques have been developed to permit correlation of the profiles obtained by gas chromatography with electron capture detection and gas chromatography with electron impact mass spectrometry. One uses the fluoroacyl derivatives of a homologous series of n-alkylamines to provide a reference grid of retention parameters applicable to both systems. The other correlates the intensity profile of a specific fluorine-containing ion with the gas chromatographic profile obtained with electron capture detection of fluoroacyl derivatives.
