Abstract

There is a good deal of concern over broadcast stations’ examination of their local community needs, but information on a deeper and related issue is harder to come by. What does the average viewer look for in his “ideal”; TV outlet? What programs does he want and what does he especially dislike? These were the guiding questions which James H. Flynn III used in this small‐sample survey making use of “Q”; methodology. Flynn is instructor of speech at the University of Missouri‐St. Louis, and earned the M.A. at Ohio State in 1969.
