Abstract

The article examines the most important problems facing the leadership of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the modern socio-cultural space of Ukraine. One of the important topics of the church and religious life in Ukraine is the granting of the status of the Patriarchal Church to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which will contribute to its more effective influence on the national, cultural and religious and spiritual life of Ukraine. ​The purpose of the study is to analyze the idea of the patriarchal status of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in the theological views of Josyp Slipyi in the context of church-religious and public-political life in Ukraine.
