Abstract

Forty-five years before McGregor, Richard A. Feiss and Mary Gilson practiced Theory Y, Twelve years before Mayo's work at Hawthorne, they practiced employee counseling and studied the relationship between home conditions and efficiency. This paper discusses the details of this pioneer work of Feiss and Gilson.
