Abstract

The adoption and implementation of advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) will have a variety of impacts on human resources management and policy (Manufacturing Studies Board, 1986). This paper reviews the impact of technological change on eight human resources issues and recommends policy options which can be used to promote the acceptance and full use of AMT. The policy options are designed to encourage discussion on the ways to improve the acceptance and successful implementation of AMT and to strengthen human resources management in technologically oriented corporations.
