Abstract

The ready availability of human red cells, and the increasing difficulty of obtaining suitable human tissues for LDH isoenzyme preparations lead us to investigate the suitability of using red cells as an alternative source of LDH isoenzymes. We describe techniques for the rapid preparation of LDH-1 and LDH-3 from lysed red cells which should be of value to investigators requiring small quantities of semi-purified human LDH isoenzymes.
