Abstract
AbstractThe discovery of induced pluripotent stem cell technology has provided revolutionary access to human biology. Studying human lung disease is notoriously difficult; iPSC provide the potential for the generation of reproducible systems for investigating the cellular, molecular, and genetic mechanisms that lead to the development and pathogenesis of human lung disease. In the future, this technology holds great potential for the development of novel screening techniques and even cell-based therapeutic approaches for human lung disease. This chapter discusses how iPSC and gene editing technologies are being applied to study human lung disease.KeywordsCRISPRGene editingPluripotentDifferentiationEpithelialLung disease
