Abstract

The purpose of the work is to analyze the theoretical and practical aspects of mnemonic adaptation and integration of migrants in the Republic of Tatarstan, a Russian region with its own complex landscape of memory. The sources of the research are the materials of the activity of The House of Friendship of Nations in Kazan. The methodological basis of the article is constructivism. The results of the study note the primordial basis of official historical representations. The autonomy of narratives about the past of “local” and “newcomers” and different significance of historical views for the “young” and “senior” is stated. The connection between contradictions in the social and historical policies of The House of Friendship of Nations is revealed. The conclusions of the article offer practical recommendations for activating the processes of “mnemonic” adaptation and integration of migrants, the main of which is the actualization of their family memory.
