Abstract

Over the last 25 years, the Hispanic Health Council (HHC) of Hartford, CT has evolved as an enduring experiment in the application of anthropology to the health and social problems of the inner-city poor and rural poor, especially ethnic minority populations. Over the last several years, the scope of work of the HHC has broadened to include comparative studies in multiple U.S. sites and international populations as well.
