Abstract
The article analyses the origin of the Christian folk piety place in Lithuania (The Hill of Angels in Trakai neighbourhood) in the 21st century. It seeks to answer the question of what is common and different between folk piety and Church’s tradition in The Hill of Angels? The results of the research indicate that the origins story of The Hill of Angels and its religious cultural expression are the result of local people’s piety in the 21st century which leads to the Church’s acknowledgment of holiness.
