Abstract

A close range high speed communication device is required in current high speed D2D(Device to Device) applications. This paper presents the non-coherent wireless receiver for high speed wireless data communication suited for high speed D2D Devices. The receiver consists of an LNA, an ED(Envelope Detector) and LA(Limiting Amplifier). The measured LNA provides more than 30 dB gain to the receiver, and fully differential ED and LA rejects common mode noise which exists in the receiver. The LCL matching using packaging wire-bonding is adopted to compensate a packaging mismatch. The measure sensitivity of the receiver is -53 dBm under 3.5 Gbps wireless data communication. The measured receiver power consumption is only 20.8mW which is the 5.9pJ/bit energy efficient.
