Abstract

The problem of high-speed compression of large data streams in ultrasonic diagnostics is considered. The possibility of using the well-known method of wavelet transform for this purpose is examined. A method for approximating a recorded signal with a sequence of half-periods of the sine wave is proposed. A comparison of these methods is performed using real data recorded during the diagnostics of welds in the pipelines of Russian nuclear power plants.
