Abstract
Four aspects of the Jewish High Priest's preparation for the Day of Atonement are examined and parallels suggested for the psychotherapist in preparation for working with her or his patient. The purpose of the Day of Atonement was for purifying from sin and restoration of harmony with God. Sees psychotherapy as having similar purposes which can be facilitated with similar preparations.
