Abstract
A historical survey on the theoretical and experimental pursuit of the induction of molecular asymmetry (optical activity) by the intrinsic mirror image asymmetry in s-decay is given. A simultaneous analysis of the psychology of this peculiar research process, however typical for many others, is discussed. The story shows several frustration phases and their overcoming by time, by unexpected approaches and new developments, whereby some steps were run through outside the proper discipline.
