Abstract

Radionuclide imaging of the liver is a valuable and frequently employed technique. New diagnostic patterns continue to be described. The hepatic "hot spot," although familiar to the nuclear medicine specialist (1-8), has escaped the attention of the internist and gastroenterologist. We present here a patient with superior vena caval obstruction secondary to malignant mediastinal thymoma who demonstrates this scintigraphic finding.
