Abstract

A project for the establishment of the Hellenic Cadastre in Greece is currently in progress. This paper describes the existing situation and the resulted difficulties in the setting up of the Hellenic Cadastral Information System. More specifically, the first part of the paper deals with the existing land registration system and the implementation process of the Hellenic Cadastre. The second part deals with the experience gained by professional groups, especially surveying engineering firms, involved in the cadastral project during its implementation phase so far. The third part of the paper assesses and examines the technical, legislative and financial aspects of the cadastral stages already developed, or to be followed. Finally, the last part of the paper is aims to introduce effective solutions to specific problems, thus facilitating the whole procedure.
