Abstract
The article discusses the impact of U.S. inequality in socioeconomic status (SES) on physical and mental health. Topics include the negative impact of inequality on quality of life in societies, research on the notion of allostatic load as a cause of disease, and the impact of psychological problems on the premature aging of DNA. The impact of glucocorticoids on the prefrontal cortex (PFC) is addressed.
