Abstract

This paper reports on Monte Carlo results for the Haven Ratio in two square planar lattice gases. In the first, which has nearest neighbor exclusion, the Haven ratio decreases with increasing occupation, exhibits a minimum and goes to infinity at the known second-order phase transition. This is shown to be a percolation effect. In the second, which has nearest and next nearest neighbor exclusion, the Haven ratio decreases monotonically. This suggests the absence of a strong transition which is in agreement with other findings.
