Abstract

Objectivethe anatomy of the striatum is abstract in the teaching process, they are not easy for students to understand and remember. By using the "hand as foot " approach, we can vividly show students the anatomy of the striatum and also facilitate their memory and revision. MethodThe caudate nucleus is represented by the right hand bent position; the caudate nucleus tail is represented by the thumb phalanx; the caudate nucleus body is represented by the index finger proximal phalanx. The caudate nucleus head is represented by the index finger distal phalanx and the amygdala is represented by the thumbnail bed. The shell is represented by the light green circle, while the globus pallidus is represented by the dark green circle around the left hand's thumb and index finger. By applying body language to professional information, the teaching of "hand as a foot" increases the quality of instruction by helping students grasp complex abstract three-dimensional content more easily and by simplifying it into concrete form. Making abstract learning easy to understand. ResultsThe new way of teaching has enlivened the classroom, motivated the students and enabled them to better understand the anatomy of the striatum through the "hand as foot" method. ConclusionThe "hand as foot" method is more lively and interesting than the traditional method, which not only enlivens the classroom but also motivates and engages the students. We have used this teaching method in clinical teaching and have achieved good results.
