Abstract
A hierarchy of Harry-Dym type equations and its Hamiltonian structure are presented, which correspond to the 3 X 3 matrix spectral problem. A new finite-dimensional completely integrable system in the Liouville sense is obtained through nonlinearization of this spectral problem and its adjoint spectral problem.
