Abstract

1. 1. Pila leopoldvillensis haemocyanin has been investigated under different pH conditions by means of combined electron microscopy and sedimentation analysis. 2. 2. The shape of the molecule (a six-layered hollow cylinder, dia. 345 Å, height 385 Å), its dissociation products into halves and tenths and the reassociation products have been described, as well as the shape of the molecules in the native haemolymph. 3. 3. A preliminary study of the oxygenation has indicated an oxygen-binding capacity of 0·34 and a normal Bohr effect.
