Abstract

As a developing country, China has experienced dramatically economic, social and demographic changes in the past few decades, which has resulted in a parallel transition in disease pattern. In 1973, communicable diseases, maternal conditions and perinatal conditions were the main cause of death in China, while chronic diseases became predominant since 1990 [1].
