Abstract
Properties of the seven parameter group O(3)Lambda (T2*T2) are investigated using shift operator techniques. A complete classification and analysis of unitary irreducible representations is given and it is shown that a single arbitrary irreducible representation contains all those irreducible representations of the group O(4) which are realized by the hydrogen atom. Further, it is shown that the seven parameter group O(3)Lambda (T2*T2) is equally as good a choice for the dynamical group of the hydrogen atom as the more usual fifteen parameter group O(4,2).
