Abstract

With the development of Science and technology and reform in military field, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) plays more and more key role in the current world. Along with the fast exploration of UAVs, the ground control station (GCS) as the link between people and UAVs is particularly important. In this paper, the UAV based GCS is studied and programmed for software achievement. The involved technologies include multi-thread mechanism, Windows message transmission mechanism and serial port communication technology. AS for the GCS, it can be divided into Main frame interface, link communication, control instruction and map navigation such modules. After the basic function achievement of the GCS, the simulation tests and practical experiments are performed to verify the control performance. Experimental results can demonstrate that the GCS can send the remote control commands to the UAVs accurately in real-time.
