Abstract

The infrared spectrum of gas-phase CsH in its ground electronic state has been observed using a diode laser spectrometer. The wavenumber of eight transitions of the ν=1←0 band, twelve transitions of the ν=2←1 band and six transitions of the ν=3←2 band have been measured with a nominal accuracy of ±0.001 cm −1. These data have been used to obtain the most accurate values for the ground-state Dunham parameters available to date. An improved value of r e=2.4942(1) Å has been determined for CsH.
