Abstract
For identification of future research work, an extremely valuable procedure is to undertake a quantitative analysis of an entire repository system. In Switzerland, legal requirements for the preparation and formal submission of such a synthesis task have led to intensive efforts being invested in field, laboratory and desk studies and have produced specific input for planning of future research work.
