Abstract

The atom-bond sum-connectivity index (ABS index) of a graph G=(V,E) is defined as ABS(G)=∑ξζ∈E(G)dξ+dζ−2dξ+dζ, where dξ represents the degree of vertex ξ∈V. By using ABS index, the heat of formation of octane and heptane can be accurately predicted. The approximate value of the range for topological indices via certain parameters of molecular graphs is a major source of information in studying the molecular structure. In this paper, we determine the maximum values of ABS index in the collection of graphs which was provided with some predetermined parameters containing clique number, chromatic number etc., furthermore, the relevant extremal graphs were depicted.
