Abstract
The main objective of the model analysis is to show a new thermodynamic property, which is a new formation pressure of a micelle. The Gibbs adsorption equation allows its integration in the vicinity of the critical micellar concentration or surface saturation zone. This region is selected manually since it presents a linear relationship between the surface pressure and the logarithm of the mole fraction in bulk. The intercept of this linear equation contains two surface pressures, the first is the maximum surface pressure obtained from the experimental data and the second is interpreted in this work, like the surface pressure required for micellar formation and which contains the standard micellization energy. It is shown that this term appears in different two-dimensional equations of state. This new thermodynamic property are shown in graphical and numerical representation of various examples of systems in homologous families. This pressure contains the micellization energy and depends on the aggregation number of the micelle. In particular, the Langmuir-BET SEOS at saturation reproduces the expression that defines the micellization.
